I started my educational career at Tri-State University, which is located in Angola, Indiana. I enrolled in the fall of 1996 with the psychology-clincial track as my major. At the start of my sophomore year, I added a second major in criminal justice, specializing in forensic psychology. I studied under Dr. Duane Dobbert, who is a forensic psychologist and has worked in Michigan in a variety of forensic settings for over 25 years. I graduated in May of 2000 with high honors and was awarded the Dr. Jack J. Nortrup award for the Outstanding student in the School of Arts and Sciences. For more information about Tri-State University, please visit their homepage. Next, I attended Ball State University where I enrolled in August 2000. I finished my Master's degree in Clinical Psychology in July 2002. I worked for both Dr. George Gaither and Dr. Gary Meunier. I currently attend Kent State University as a fifth year doctoral student in Clinical Psychology. My advisor is Dr. Yossi Ben-Porath, but I also work closely with Dr. Jack Graham on a variety of research projects. Moreover, I am also collaborating with Dr. Edelyn Verona (University of Illinois) on a couple of projects concerning the psychopathic personality. I am primarily interested in personality conceptualizations of psychopathy and affective disorders as well as furthering the construct validity and clinical utility of the MMPI-2 Restructured Clinical scales. Click on the link below for a more detailed review of my interests as well as planned/ongoing projects. I have also posted links to my publications and presentations.
I am currently attending my APA psychology internship at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health in Toronto, Ontario. My primary supervisor is Mike Bagby with whom I have become quite productive concerning two major areas of research: response styles in psychological assessment and personality and psychopathology research.
