Research Interests
My research interests broadly speaking fall into two categories of psychological assessment and psychopathology. My assessment interests include evaluation of psychometric characteristics of instruments measuring personality and psychopathology. More specifically, I am interested in conducting research with the MMPI-2/MMPI-A and the assessment of psychopathy and other syndromes often encountered in the forensic arena. I am also interested in extending the knowledge of the Restructured Clinical (RC) Scales' construct validity and utility in clinical practice. Finally, I am interested in assessment applied in civil and criminal forensic practice, particularly issues concerning response bias on personality measures.
My psychopathology interests include personological underpinnings of psychopathology as well as the hierarchical structure of personality and psychopathology. More specifically, I am interested in personality traits as a unifying base of affective and personality disorders. I am further interested in the theoretical construct of psychopathy, especially the development and measurment of the psychopathic personality traits, but also etiological mechanisms such as temperament and cognitive factors.
