Textual Editing:
A Concordance to Edward Taylor's Major Poetry. Following the editorial principles developed for the Concordance to the Minor Poetry of Edward Taylor, this concordance includes cross-referencing of variants and distinguishing of homographs. This 4-volume concordance has just been published by Edwin Mellen Press (August 2008).

Anne Bradstreet's Several Poems. A scholarly edition of the 1678 Several Poems and unpublished poems and prose. This edition provides students and scholars with an edition respectful of the text of the 1678 publication. Under contract with the U of Tennessee P.

Critical Work:
Singing Spiritual Songs: Poetics in Puritan America. Book-length study of Puritan poetic practices, featuring the poetry of Bradstreet, Wigglesworth, Taylor, and a number of lesser known poets.

"Carping Tongues and Censorious Poets: Two Women Poets and Their Readers." An article-length study of Anne Bradstreet and An Collins and their construction of the reader.

The Rhetoric of War in Early America: Discourse and Social Practice in the Literature of Conflict. A new project, this study employs critical discourse analysis to discover how colonists constructed histories and narratives of conflict, how genres and social practices changed across time, and how cultural conflict is articulated in narratives of that conflict. The focus is on documents of the several "French & Indian Wars" as well as earlier conflicts in 17th century New England.

Metaphors of Fear. A CDA study of Department of Homeland Security documents.
