Languages have long captured my interest. They at once possess a mathematical structure,
and yet an unpredictability that makes them inescapably human. These very characteristics inspired me to begin
what would ultimately become eight years of study of the Spanish language, with degrees and various other language
experiences along the way. These have lead to my current post as graduate student of translation, and foreign language
instructor in Spanish, at Kent State University. My goals in life will lead me to learn still other languages and cultures, but
for the moment my concentration is translation.
