1. Begin your investigation. Write down a hypothesis on how you think rocks are formed then click one of the rock types to get started(go through all three):

                    1.  Sedimentary

                    2.  Igneous

                    3.  Metamorphic

2. After you learn about the three different types of rocks, see how they are connected. CLICK HERE

 

 

3. Watch a video on the rock cycle and the three types of rocks. CLICK HERE

 

4. After you learn about the different types of rocks, research which of the three are found in Ohio.  CLICK HERE                                                                                                                                  

 

5. Check out the Economic uses for different rock types in Ohio CLICK HERE. Choose one type (do not use the oil and gas section).

6. After you have collected all the information you need begin to fill out your posters for the science fair!

7. Please create a physical representation of either one type of rock or the rock cycle (ask the teacher for approval first)

8.  Create a list of who was assigned to what part of the project and fill out the group evaluation sheet.
