Target

Aligning Artifact

5.1

Select or create appropriate assessments that will measure student achievement of goals and objectives.

Authentic method (formal or informal) of assessing student learning is documented and aligned with goals.

Floor Hockey Psychomotor Assessment

5.2

Use appropriate assessments to evaluate student learning before, during, and after instruction.

More than one method (peer, self, or teacher) for assessing student learning is used to inform instruction.

Floor Hockey Cognitive Assessment

Informal Assessment

5.3

Utilize the reflective cycle to implement change in teacher performance, student learning, and instructional goals and decisions.

Teacher candidates demonstrate consistent use of the reflective cycle involving the description, justification, and critique of the teaching performance.  Descriptions are clear and well written.  Teaching goals are aligned with lesson critique, and there is evidence/data to indicate change based upon reflective cycle.

Reflections

The floor hockey psychomotor assessment in Outcome 5.1 demonstrates my ability to create assessments that align with the lesson and unit goals and objectives.  The assessment aligns with the lesson objectives as it focuses on the students’ wrist and snap shots along with how often they recognize the opportunity to use the give and go in a game situation.

The floor hockey cognitive assessment in Outcome 5.2 demonstrates my ability to create formal assessments.  This assessment aligns with the goals of the entire unit as it incorporates all of the content learned throughout.

The artifact in Outcome 5.3 artifact demonstrates my ability to reflect and critique my performance after the lesson.  This artifact contains 4 reflections that follow instruction and provide evidence to indicate change.  It shows my use of the reflective cycle to change teacher performance, aid student learning, and create goals for improvement.  The reflections are listed sequentially, so the goals set in the preceding reflection will be measured in the following data collection.
