Professional Learning Plan

Technology and Learning

The Professional Learning Plan was an opportunity for me to reflect on my professional goals and accomplishments. The overall goal is to continuously improve my skills and be an active in lifelong learner. The plan  asked that I  look at my strengths, weaknesses, and knowledge related to technology and to identify practical uses for technology in my anticipated future job position. Areas that could use improvement were identified as well as steps that could be taken to improve skills in those areas. The plan ends with goals that I set for myself.

Webquest

Designing Online Courses

I created a WebQuest about WebQuest's. The audience for this is educators. The WebQuest allows educators to research WebQuest's and prepare or create one on a topic of choice. A WebQuest is appropriate because it uses the final product as the teaching mechanism. It provides an example of what is expected but also allows for discovery and research. The WebQuest introduces a way teachers can effectively make use of existing and emerging digital tools and resources.

Incorporate Web 2.0 Tools in the Classroom

Design Multimedia for Instruction

This interactive presentation was created using Microsoft PowerPoint and Articulate. The presentation serves as a great resource for those interested in incorporating Web 2.0 technologies in the classroom. A brief overview of tools for Video, Audio, Collaboration, Presentation and Communication is covered, providing examples of each. Through this presentation I evaluated and reflected on current research and professional practice to make effective use of existing and emerging digital tools and resources in support of student learning. This is also a contribution to the effectiveness, vitality, and self-renewal of the teaching profession and serves as a means of professional development. A great example of professional leadership.
